Welcome
What is Craniosacral therapy ?
CranioSacral therapy is a gentle hands on therapy that can treat the whole body. It works on the CranioSacral system which consists of bones, soft tissue and fluid that surround and nurture the brain and spinal cord. It can release tension deep within the body which in turn can help relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole body health and performance. When we have physical or emotional strain put on our body this can affect the way in which the body can function at its optimum. Gentle techniques are used to enhance the central nervous system. As it is so gentle it can be effective for all ages from newborns, during childhood, in adulthood and for to the elderly.
Craniosacral Therapy was pioneered and developed by Dr John E Upledger an osteopathic physician following extensive scientific studies from 1975. Craniosacral therapy is now taught and the techniques used all over the world by dedicated Craniosacral therapist as well as by osteopaths, physiotherapists, chiropractors and other body work therapists. |
Treatment Session
An appointment lasts an hour. After taking a brief history you will be invited to lay fully clothed on the therapy table. Barbara will assess your whole body by laying hands gently on your body. The light touch techniques can release tensions and allow the body to relax and self correct. You may have a feeling of deep relaxation, warmth and softening. After a session you may feel more relaxed, sleep or be more energised. I am always happy to discuss your particular case prior to making an appointment.
The cost of a one hour treatment is £60. For more information about how Craniosacral therapy can help you specifically you can book a free telephone consultation, which may help you to decide if Barbara and Craniosacral Therapy is right for you. Email [email protected] or call 07770332101 |
